FBC Half-Marathon Training

Welcome to the 9th edition of the FBC Half-Marathon training program.  We look forward to joining with you in training for this event and spending many hours and miles with you on the pavement getting to know you.  This year we are training together to run the Soaring Wings Half-Marathon in Conway, AR, on October 21th, 2017.  Soaring Wings is a Christian home for children who have been victims of unfortunate circumstances.  We are excited to able to help support such an organization through this endeavor.

General Training Info

Dates of program: Each Saturday starting July 8th through October 14th. Race day is October 21st.

Time of program: Registration:  July 15th and 22nd, 2017 – 6:45 a.m.

Beginning the following Saturday, your start time will vary depending on your group’s mileage. The plan is designed for each group to finish by 8 a.m. A seminar in various running related topics, or a devotion will follow the group run each week, and will last 10-15 minutes.

Program cost:

Training program cost is $25 and will include a dri-fit running shirt, training plan, and pre-planned routes. Snacks and water will be provided each week at no cost.

The program is designed to assist everyone from the beginner runner/walker to the most experienced runner meet their personal training goals.


Group A: 1:55 or less
Group B: 1:55 to 2:15
Group C: 2:15 to 2:35
Group D: 2:35 to 3:00
Group E: Walkers

You will receive weekly emails from one of the coaches in your group with the current week’s route, tips, upcoming speakers, and other information.

Race Information:

To sign up for the Soaring Wings Half Marathon, you must go online at www.swhalf.com and register. Registration for this race is not included in the FBC Training Program. While we encourage you to come run the race with us, it is not required to participate in the training group. So if you’re looking for a group to run with each week, come join us!
